The 29th season of the New Symphony Orchestra is under the honorary patronage of H.E. Mrs. Zakia El Midaoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Bulgaria. On January 28, she once again invited some of the musicians to perform a chamber concert at her residence in Sofia. The concert was dedicated to the sponsors of the orchestra whose founder and president is Mrs. Julia Hristova.

Ambassadors and other representatives of the diplomatic corps, intellectuals and artosts were present. Among the guests were representatives of the Association  of French Lamguage Teachers as the Moroccan ambassador is the chair of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors Accredited to Bulgaria.

Dora Dimitrova (violin), Kristina Hinova (violin), Evelina Mihova (violin) and Teodora Atanasova (violoncello) fascinated the audience with their performances of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Marin Goleminov, Jules Massenet and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The purpose of this and previous concerts, organized by the Moroccan ambassador, is to attract more sponsors for the New Symphony Orchestra, which does not receive state subsidies but it consists of extremely talented performers, many of them young people.

After the concert. H. E. Mrs. Zakia El Midaoui invited the guests to a cocktail with Moroccan specialties and Bulgarian wines.

On the eve of March 1, the Martenitsas, presented by friends of the Embassy, also brought Bulgarian atmosphere to the residence. Among them were Vice-President Iliana Yotova, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva and other politicians and public figures.

With one of the Martenitsas, the Moroccan ambassador decorated the door of her residence.
