{"id":35653,"date":"2023-01-18T12:19:10","date_gmt":"2023-01-18T10:19:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/?p=35653"},"modified":"2023-01-18T12:20:49","modified_gmt":"2023-01-18T10:20:49","slug":"india-hosted-voice-of-global-south-summit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/india-hosted-voice-of-global-south-summit\/","title":{"rendered":"India hosted \u201cVoice of Global South Summit\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated the \u2018Voice of Global South Summit\u2019 on 12 January under the theme \u2018Unity of Voice, Unity of Purpose\u2019 . The &#8220;Voice of Global South Summit\u201d brought together countries of the Global South to share their perspectives and priorities on a common platform. More than 120 countries have joined in this Summit.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative was inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi\u2019s vision of \u201cDevelopment for all, with trust and efforts of all\u201d and was underpinned by India\u2019s philosophy of \u2018Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam\u2019 or \u2018The world is our family\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>India\u2019s ongoing Presidency of the G20 provides a special and strong opportunity for those countries that are not part of the G20 process to share their ideas and expectations from the G20. Prime Minister Modi said that India\u2019s G20 Presidency will be shaped in consultation with not just our G20\u00a0 partners, but also our fellow-travellers in the Global South, whose voice often goes unheard.<\/p>\n<p>The Voice of Global South Summit included ten sessions spread over 12-13 January with each session witnessing the participation of Leaders and Ministers from around 15 countries.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural and concluding sessions was at Head of State \/ Government level, and hosted by the Prime Minister. The theme of the Inaugural Leaders\u2019 session was &#8220;Voice of Global South &#8211; for Human-Centric Development\u201d and that of the Concluding Leaders\u2019 session was &#8220;Unity of Voice-Unity of Purpose\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, there were 8 Ministerial sessions, with the following themes:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Finance Ministers\u2019 Session on &#8220;Financing People-Centric Development\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 Environment Ministers\u2019 Session on &#8220;Balancing Growth with Environment Friendly Lifestyles (LiFE)\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 Foreign Ministers\u2019 Session on &#8220;Priorities of the Global South &#8211; Ensuring a Conducive Environment\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 Energy Ministers\u2019 Session on &#8220;Energy Security and Development- Roadmap to Prosperity\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 Health Ministers\u2019 Session on &#8220;Cooperation to Build Resilient Healthcare Systems\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 Education Ministers\u2019 Session on &#8220;Human Resource Development and Capacity Building\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 Commerce and Trade Ministers\u2019 Session on &#8220;Developing Synergies in the Global South &#8211; Trade, Technology, Tourism and Resources\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 Foreign Ministers\u2019 Session on &#8220;G-20: Suggestions for India\u2019s Presidency\u201d<\/p>\n<p>India will work to ensure that the valuable inputs generated from partner countries in the Voice of Global South Summit deliberations receive due cognizance globally.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated the \u2018Voice &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":35638,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[2,47],"tags":[],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/35653"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=35653"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/35653\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":35660,"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/35653\/revisions\/35660"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/35638"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=35653"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=35653"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/evropaworld.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=35653"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
