The Embassy of India in Sofia, in collaboration with the East-West Indological Foundation, is delighted to present a special cultural series celebrating the timeless heritage of Indian classical music and traditions. From 10–14 September 2025, audiences across Bulgaria are invited for the concerts by the world-renowned Maharaj Trio in various cities and towns.

About the Maharaj Trio:

Hailing from the cultural heartland of Varanasi, the Maharaj Trio embodies an unbroken 500-year musical lineage as the 15th generation of the illustrious Maharaj family, steadfastly safeguarding the timeless splendour of Hindustani classical music.

Featuring Prabhash Maharaj on tabla, Abhishek Maharaj on sitar, and Vishal Maharaj on sarod, the ensemble captivates audiences with intricate improvisations, emotive melodies, and unparalleled virtuosity. Recognized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) as cultural ambassadors, the Maharaj Trio has performed at prestigious music festivals and concert halls across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and beyond.
