Embassy of India brings Indian Cinema and Traditions to Bulgaria

The Embassy of India in Sofia, in partnership with the Municipality of Burgas and the Ayurveda Medical Center, is organising a special cultural event dedicated to Indian cinema and traditions. The event will take place from 25–28 August 2025 on the open-air stage “Snail” in the beautiful Sea Garden of Burgas.

The films to be screened are as follows:

  • 25 AugustScreening of the film “83” (Sports/Drama, India 2021, Dir. Kabir Khan, 2h 45min.) – A stirring biographical drama about the Indian national cricket team’s historic 1983 World Cup victory.
  • 26 AugustScreening of the film “RRR” (Action/Adventure, India 2022, Dir. S. S. Rajamouli, 3h 07min.) – An epic story of two freedom fighters bound by destiny, featuring breathtaking action and the Oscar-winning song “Naatu Naatu”.
  • 27 AugustScreening of the film “You Only Live Once” (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, India 2011, Dir. Zoya Akhtar, 2h 33min.) – A heartwarming journey of three friends across Spain, exploring adventure, love, and self-discovery.
  • 28 AugustIndian Dance Performance by the Indian dance school “Kaya”, followed by Screening of the film “English Vinglish” (Family/Comedy, India 2012, Dir. Gauri Shinde, 2h 14min.) – A moving tale of a woman’s rediscovery of confidence and identity through learning English.

Special events of these movies are also going to be held in the following cities:

  • Kyustendil (dates to be finalised),
  • Belogradchik (first week of November 2025), and
  • Sofia (during the MENAR Film Festival in January 2026).
